Albania

I heard Albania was one of the poorest countries in Southern Europe and it felt it. Like Montenegro so many men in the towns were sitting, drinking and talking as I assume they had no work. The roads were not well maintained and the drivers seem to do what they want. The people are so […]

Montenegro

Montenegro feels poor. As you leave Dubrovnik in Southern Croatia after a few miles you cross into Montenegro, the difference is apparent straight away as the wealth of Southern Croatia is left behind and the dry, dusty towns of Montenegro have men milling around, drinking coffee and passing the time as there doesn’t seem to […]

Bosnia

I blinked and missed it.

Croatia

Croatia is a beautiful country with amazing scenery. The Dalmatian Coast is on the Eastern side of The Adriatic where there are over 1000 Islands just off the mainland, so as I rode south I had the amazing blue sea on my right and the mountains on my left which was perfect. The photo of […]

Slovenia

I blinked and I had passed through Slovenia. In the short time I was there I loved the people and it was beautiful riding.

Italy

I’ve probably travelled more in Italy over the years than any other country and I love it. The country is diverse with beautiful mountains in the North, coastline flanking the east and west of the country and Sicily to the south. The people are expressive and stylish in the north where industry fills the pockets […]

Switzerland

Switzerland is great. The scenery is stunning with pastures, mountains and blue skies. The Swiss are very sociable and seem relaxed and outgoing. Switzerland feels rich but they don’t show off about their wealth. I like the Swiss.

Lichtenstein

Lichtenstein is like Canary Wharf in London with mountains. You know your in Lichtenstein when you stop seeing ordinary cars and all of a sudden everyone is driving a Porsche or Mercedes. I’m sure for most people in Lichtenstein it’s all about the money but it is set in an amazing landscape of mountains.

Germany

I have been in Germany on a few occasions and it didn’t disappoint this time. Germany is ‘The Workhouse of Europe’, whilst the rest of Europe lays on the beach and enjoys a cold beer Germany keeps everything going for us. Thanks Germany. The Germans are very helpful and polite but seem slightly reserved for […]

Luxembourg

Luxemberg is a small well kept country with everything ‘in order’ from the roads, houses, gardens and towns. There wasn’t anything I disliked about it but it was too sterile for me.

Belgium

I’ve only ever ‘passed through’ Belgium so my only comment is that the roads and towns I have passed through have never inspired me, it’s always been quite bland and the roads poor in condition to those countries surrounding them.

France

I arrived in France stressed so my brief experience wasn’t representative of previous visits. I know it’s common in England for people to knock the French but I’ve always really liked them. They are honest, friendly, passionate and not shy with their opinions. I like the fact they strive for better working conditions and don’t […]
