Rich Test Post 3
Like some of my clients, do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with self doubt and in need of a boost in confidence and self acceptance? Well, why
Do you have a negative mindset? Are you stuck? Are you unfulfilled? Perhaps you’ve read the self-help books and listened to the podcasts without success? We all face challenges from time to time and in order to resolve them, we need to move forward and grow.
Men come to me because they feel stuck and want change, and I have experience in helping men change. Working together, you get complete clarity regarding what change you want, why you’re stuck, and a strategy tailored to you to get where you want to be. Lastly, I hold you accountable to achieving the change you want. Imagine your dreams becoming a reality.
Traditionally help for men was limited, but now we can work together, starting with determining your goals. Imagine becoming more motivated and establishing a meaningful life and fulfilling your potential.
I hold you to account, have ‘your back’ and support you with your change and improved wellbeing. We identify your strengths so you can use them to both work towards goals and be more mindful of the present. Balance in life is so important.
I want you to have total clarity of vision with a clear sense of purpose and meaning, unstoppable confidence in yourself.
I walk alongside you for part of your journey during your time for change, growth and happiness; I give you psychological support.
“Dan immediately puts you at ease, making it easier for you to really ‘dig deep’ and explore your values and fundamental beliefs. This process resulted in me evaluating where I was in life compared to those values. Things needed to change, after going through the process it was so clear. I have never been surer of anything in my life. I highly recommend Dan’s life coaching services.”

Men come to me because I have experience and make a positive impact, meaning men achieve the change they desire. My coaching is about the outcomes you want and wellbeing. I ask insightful, meaningful and difficult questions that need asking. Having completed a Master’s degree in wellbeing and coaching, I use proven techniques and interventions to support whatever you want to achieve.
Following a challenging childhood and stressful early adulthood, counselling gave me the foundation to start growing. That was over 20 years ago. From there I started building the life I wanted. Then, 8 years ago I changed my life. The first step was leaving the corporate world and began to focus more and more on doing what gave me meaning and purpose. Firstly, I started riding my motorbike. I set off from the UK, travelling across Europe and Asia. I stopped 18 months later in Sydney, Australia. That trip gave me great insight into how kind and friendly people around the world are. When I returned home, I started a charity, supporting the homeless. Several months later I enrolled on a degree course in Psychology and after completing that degree, I completed a Masters in Wellbeing & Coaching.
I’ve been on a personal journey of transformation and now feel more fulfilled and authentic. I now want to help you on your journey. I love helping people, I love helping men and I want to help you!
You don’t need to be alone on your journey; I walk alongside you…
What do you want? What do you really want?

Dan Skeates MSc, MBPsS, EMCC accredited Associate Coach
I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) ‘Special Group in Coaching Psychology’, and accredited as an Associate Coach & Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC).
I have the skill, knowledge and experience that you require from a professional and effective coach. However, the most important factor we must have for you to achieve movement from your current state to your desired state is the quality of our connection. I excel at being able to create a confidential, safe space for you to explore your thoughts.
Whether it is life coaching, business coaching or adventure travel coaching, my role is to help unlock your thoughts.
I left a successful corporate career behind to become a life and business coach, improve the quality of my life and help you. I feel all of my life experiences have funnelled me towards becoming a coach.
Coaching is a powerful conversational intervention where I support you with the change you desire. As a coaching psychologist I use theoretically grounded and scientifically validated techniques to help you change your mindset or reach your goals in your personal, business and adventure life.
You may ponder on what type of coach you want to work with: life coach, adventure travel coach, career coach, business coach, personal development coach, confidence coach… I could go on! I pondered on what type of coaching I could offer; what type of coach am I?
I believe the efficacy and credibility a coach has is dependent on the expertise (skill & knowledge), experience and connection one has. Coaching is an unregulated industry – anyone can start coaching immediately. So how can you determine the level of expertise, experience and connection a coach has? A little research will give you some of the answers; their biography and social media will give you an indication about what life experiences they have had, their qualifications inform you about their skill and knowledge level, and their accreditations and organisation memberships inform you how long they have been coaching and their experience in particular fields. A coach can have years of experience and expertise. However, if you do not have a great connection with your coach, forget it! How you feel about your coach and what you perceive they feel about you is a prerequisite to you achieving the change you desire. Establishing the quality of the connection between you and your coach is easy, you have to meet up, either face to face or online. This is the very essence of why I suggest we meet for a free initial meeting. Only after this can you decide if I am the coach for you.
Looking back, I was exactly where you are now, I had dreams, I wanted progression, I wanted more for myself and my kids. I know what it feels like to want more and realise that progress is slow or non-existent, at times it felt like I was going backwards! The first thing I did was to define what I wanted, then I created a plan of how to achieve it. I followed my plan, with small steps, but always going in the right direction. I enjoyed both the present and developing my future. That started over 20 years ago.
When I decided ‘enough was enough’, and I wanted to be happier and more fulfilled, ‘personal growth, life coaching, SMART goals, authentic behaviour and how to use my strengths to succeed’ wasn’t in my vocabulary. I was alone on my journey.
I left a successful corporate career behind to fulfil my potential and improve the quality of my life. Now, having studied positive psychology and coaching psychology for many years, I recognise my behaviours over the last few decades were ideal for achieving forward movement in my personal and business life. However, it took me many years languishing in my dreams before I started my journey.
You don’t have to be alone on your journey.
Read my bio, and check out my social media where you can read about my experience, successes and personal development. I have started businesses and a charity, worked for corporations and travelled to over 80 countries around the world, and I am a very proud father of two amazing young adults.
I have found a vocation I really love, and my philosophy to coaching is simple; I want to be the best coach I can be for you, and I achieve this by using my expertise, experience and ability to effectively connect with you to help unlock your potential. My intention is to help you flourish, achieving sustainable forward movement towards a change in your mindset and / or achieving your goal(s).
The psychologist Carl Rogers really inspired me. He had a humanistic perspective to psychology and developed the person-centred approach. This means in my practice I have a holistic approach and focus on your self-awareness and thoughtful actions. I believe everyone is individual, has free will and is motivated to achieve their potential and self-actualise (where your personal potential is fully realised). I believe that by focusing on your strengths you can achieve your goal(s) and flourish.
I have worked with both individuals and organisations in Essex, Cambridge & London. You can read testimonials from people I have helped and what they say about their experience of my coaching
I have always helped people and experienced kindness wherever I have travelled throughout the world. However, it was whilst travelling on my Destination Unknown trip that I realised I wanted to focus on helping people. As soon as I returned home, I co-founded Cool to be Kind in Essex.
My interest in people then led me to study psychology, where I discovered the humanistic approach and then positive psychology, which focuses on both individual and societal wellbeing.
