Day 478 – 480 Brisbane – Gold Coast (Australia) / motorbike GS Dakar RTW overland adventure traveller

A short ride down the highway to Gold Coast this morning to stay with Gary & Vicky form England who I’ve known for about 25 years, they moved to Gold Coast 3 1/2 years ago and are making a new life for themselves and their 3 boys. Thanks for looking after me, take care of yourselves.

Gold Coast in the winter is like England in the summer, I put my shorts on and headed a couple of miles down the road to the coast, lovely fine sand and blue sea. 

I said my goodbyes to Gary & Vicky and headed 20km inland up a mountain to stay a couple of days with Mark who put me up in Gladstone a week a go. Wow, what an amazing house in an amazing part of the world. Mark has built a truely unique house in the forest over many years, he’s created a wonderful place to live.

I stayed with Mark until my liver told me ‘it’s time to leave’…
