Day 182 – 5th October 2014 Leave 8am Miles rode 53 Simbhanjyang – Kathmandu

I woke up freezing and I have an eye infection. The last time when I was freezing was also in The Himalayas but in Ladakh, Kashmir about 6 weeks ago. My left eye is swollen but I have 90% vision, so no real problem.

The ride down to Kathmandu was really great as we wound our way down through beautiful scenery, green, lush terraced crops, trees everywhere and smiling people, what a perfect morning. We arrived in Kathmandu at lunchtime, I stopped at one point for Oli to catch me up and an English guy walked over saying hi. It quickly transpired that it was Ian one of the 10 people I’m meeting at the end of the month at the Myanmar border to cross with. He was with half of the other bikers who are doing the crossing too who he had just crossed China with. We had lunch and swopped travel stories, what a small world.
