Wonderful, calm, relaxed.
Armenia is again a country of two halves, the very poor country and the modern, progressive Yerevan with people getting on like in cities all over the world. Yerevan people are lovely, relaxed and interested in visitors, I couldn’t think of a better city to have a weekend away in, many things to see, loads of history, great small intimate bars, music and more.
The roads are poor but the drivers are possibly the most considerate in the world, hardly any speeding and unlike most cities in the world they stop at pedestrian crossings.
Outside the city in the small towns and villages there is only low paid work and not much of it, many men have to go to Russia for work.
