Days 507 & 508 Berlin – Calais (France) / motorbike GS Dakar RTW overland adventure traveller

  • Left – 8.15am in the rain, both days.
  • 24th & 25th August 2015
  • Miles rode – 600 (960km)

I woke up to rain both mornings but the days improved rapidly and blue skies emerged. Riding on motorways was boring but it gave me so much time to reflect upon the last 500 days. I went in and out of feeling great and down.

My good friend Heiko who’s still riding around the world contacted friends in Berlin and Marl, Western Germany so I stayed with them, costs were low and I had good company, cheers Heiko.

It started raining about 30km outside Calais and by the time I got to the beach the skies were grey and the rain was heavy. I decided to stay at the same hotel I stayed at on Day 1 of my trip, it is still a dump but was great to remember that day so long ago. So much adventure inbetween.

England tomorrow.

    1. Hi Dan
Looks like you had a great time. Just looking at the F1 hotel, it brings back some memories as we stayed at the same crappy hotel two years ago on our way out to Italy.
      Catch up soon.
      Paul
